Setup and troubleshooting

The Zens AI GitHub App is available on the free Marketplace plan. We aim to answer installation and privacy questions within two business days.

Install and connect

  1. Open the Zens AI GitHub page and choose Install GitHub App.
  2. Select the organization or personal account that owns the engineering repositories.
  3. Grant access to all repositories or choose only the repositories that should receive Zens issues.
  4. Authorize the GitHub user so Zens can verify the installation, then sign in to Zens AI if requested.
  5. Open Settings → GitHub and confirm that the account and repositories appear.
  6. Open Settings → Issue, select a saved Zens issue, choose a repository, and create a test GitHub issue.

Common fixes

The repository does not appear

Open Settings → GitHub and refresh repositories. If it is still missing, edit the GitHub App installation and add that repository to the selected-repository list.

GitHub says Resource not accessible by integration

Confirm the installation still has Issues read and write permission and that the target repository belongs to the same installation. Reinstall if the permission grant changed.

A public repository is blocked

Zens requires a deliberate evidence review before public posting. Read the warning, remove personal or confidential content from the saved issue, and approve public posting only when appropriate.

The linked issue status is stale

Edit or reopen the GitHub issue, wait briefly, and refresh Zens. If it stays stale, send the repository name, issue number, and approximate event time so webhook delivery can be checked.

Remove the integration

Open the GitHub account’s installed GitHub Apps settings, select Zens AI, and uninstall it. Existing GitHub issues remain, but Zens repository access and status synchronization stop.
